A Lard Off My Mind

Chocolate monster.

Filed under: Weight loss — Katy @ 2:11 pm

That’s what I am today.

I don’t know why.  I don’t actually like chocolate that much.  I mean, I don’t dislike it.  It just isn’t what I usually want to eat.  I never have chocolate puddings, I rarely eat chocolate biscuits.

I’m just not that into chocolate.

Usually.  But today it is different.

Today, if you are made of chocolate and within driving distance - be afraid.  Be very afraid.

  1. Eat ‘em all today and don’t buy more. You’ll get away with it once, but if you eat them again tomorrow, you’ll crave chocolate all next week.

  2. Aye, but if I were made of chocolate I bet I’d get to my own arm first…

  3. If you were made of chocolate you wouldn’t be able to, because you would crack into delicious chocolatey shards as soon as you tried to bend your arm! And the shards would be MINE! HA!

  4. Z: that’s what I did, in the end. The madness has receded today.

  5. Damn. Foiled again.

(Please don’t hurt me for that horrible pun, which I totally intended)

  6. LOL…I have also been known to drive distances for chocolate. My problem now is that the best chocolate is back home and a 16hr journey away!

  7. I haven’t bought chocolate biscuits for about 10 years - if I have one, I have to eat the whole packet… specially if they are dunked in a mug of tea until the chocolate is melting.

The toughest time for me was when my kids got Easter eggs. One year they were given 18 of the darn things and I found it my duty to help them by scoffing some.

    Guilt, guilt, guilt!

There’s something about the mouth-feel of chocolate that can’t be replaced by any other food. I’m convinced it’s not just about the sugar rush.

  8. Personally I can’t stop eating the stuff. I have a little tub now, full of such delectables as maltesers and mint aero, which I nibble at every few hours. But it’s getting ridiculous. I know I’m pregnant and all that, but really, every part of me is now groaning with cellulite and pulling myself up the stairs is becoming almost impossible. My growing stomach makes me heavy enough without me compounding the situation with all this chocolate. And key lime pie. And ice cream. And home made cake.

So I have decided. Healthy food only, during the week. At weekends I may eat chocolate, but THAT IS ALL. I’ll never manage it though.
